On Thursday, July 17, 2008, Beach Boy’s genius Brian Wilson will be giving a free concert in Coney Island/Brighton Beach.  The concert will take place at Asser Levy/Seaside Park in Brooklyn, New York, across the street from the Coney Island Beach boardwalk and The New York Aquarium, and a few blocks away from the famous Cyclone Rollercoaster and the original Nathan’s Famous.

Who could ask for anything better? Beach Boy music right by the beach!

City of Water Day 26 July Governors Island, New York Harbor. Sailors, paddlers, mariners, and many others from around the region will converge on Governors Island to eat, drink and be merry. On Saturday, June 28th Rockaway Waterfront Alliance will be hosting a free paddle day at Bayswater Park, in Far Rockaway, New York.
Urban Park Rangers will be taking beginning paddlers out from 1-3PM at Bay 35th Street and Jamaica Bay.
At 3:30 Sebago Canoe Club will be taking paddlers out for a kayak /canoe tour of the bay from the same location. The tour group will depart at 3:45 sharp and head over to Dubois Point Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a great opportunity to learn to paddle and take in some of the natural habitat of Jamaica Bay.

This event is free to the public, due to the generous support from the Metopolitan Waterfront Alliance and New York- New Jersey Harbor Estuary Program. However registration is required as there are a limited number of kayaks and canoes.

From mid-July to mid-October “The New York City Waterfalls” will be on display along
the East River. Circle Line Downtown will provide the OFFICIAL Water Tours for
the “New York City Waterfalls”, with an audio introduction by the internationally
renown artist who created them, Olafur Eliasson.

Circle Line’s special 30-minute Waterfall tours will offer visitors the most in depth look at this monumental work of public art, with insights from the artist behind them. This special tour is only available on Circle Line Downtown.

Visitors will be able to see an up close view of the waterfalls
(Brooklyn Bridge, Governors Island, Pier 35 in Manhattan,
and Piers 4&5 in Brooklyn) on the tours.
