Yachts to sail into New York for festival of races

A flotilla of yachts is sailing into New York Harbor for a week-long festival of races and regattas.

The New York Classic Week was created last year as a Big Apple version of similar celebrations in venues like Monaco and the French Riviera.

Most of the yachts will dock at North Cove, a marina run by America’s Cup champion Dennis Conner in Battery Park City.

The sailboats will race around Governor’s Island on Wednesday and up in the Hudson River.
On Friday and Saturday, there’ll be races around the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
